First freelance day

The cat got me up at 6.30 and I began work - I didn't finish until midnight. Of course I had a few breaks in between, including watching an Attenborough programme and going to the library to take out some books on Hawaii. The freelance job is a biggie and I underestimated the time it would take me, but it's immensely enjoyable so I don't mind.

From the kitchen window, I noticed the light brown patterns on the male sparrows. Are the colours always this strong or am I noticing them properly for the first time?
