Mull of Galloway

The most southerly point in Scotland has a lighthouse, is an RSPB reserve and has a good cafe.

The sun shone and luckily the strong winds of early in the morning had become a good breeze by the time we arrived. Good flora including large patches of the uncommon Spring Squill.

Our second major visit of the day was to Logan Botanical Gardens, a branch of the famous Edinburgh Royal Botanical Gardens. It is much influenced by the gulf stream and grows hundreds of plants which you would not expect to see so far north. And there are special collections of plants from the southern hemisphere. It is well worth a visit and could provide many blips.
My choice as an extra is the remarkable succulent from the Canary Islands, Aeonium manniqueorum.
