What if people valued turtles as much as their perceived status in society, the size of the investment portfolios or horse power in their garages?

What if people realise that killing off "inferior" species (and suppressing humbler people) doesn't give them more power, but makes them weaker. Relying solely on oneself and one's own makings leaves a world miniaturised and deprived.
