Museum of the Moon

The Museum of the Moon exhibition opened at the Natural History Museum with a concert by Public Service Broadcasting.

The concert was in the evening and we got to look at the exhibition beforehand as well as wander around the dinosaur rooms. The concert was in the main hall under the blue whale.

While the venue of the concert was incredibly impressive the nature of the hall meant that the acoustics were not very good. In addition the stage was far too low which resulted in an extremely poor view so all in all it proved to be a disappointment although it won’t stop me seeing the band again. I think the idea behind it was much better than the reality

The photo shows the impressive artwork which is a 6 metre diameter sphere featuring detailed NASA imagery, ambient moonlight and an evolving soundscape.
