A morning spent feeding and mucking out then a trip to the hospital with Junior to get last weeks stitches out .
Back home via the vet to collect more antibiotics as still getting cows with mastitis. They have a surplus of milk and if the calf is only sucking 1 or 2 tits the other ones are getting hefted then mastitis sets in. Just means a lot of extra work stripping out the bad quarters and putting penicillin into the teat every day .
Went to try and feed the heifers I took down the road yesterday but they took off at a gallop when they saw me so cleared out and left them to it before they started jumping fences.
At least the electric scare wires are working .
We’ll get them calmed down before they need to come home in October ( I hope !)
