An hour’s delay in our flight departure turned into a longer delay with the time taken to get into the terminal.

Then, a bit like one of these escape rooms, I had to decode 4 separate locks to get the key to our apartment, in a first floor flat some 10 minutes away from where we are staying. And all of this after we crawled in the taxi down a one way street as the bin men emptied the rubbish. They worked hard and fast- but not fast enough for some drivers behind us. The taxi driver was also exceedingly helpful.

Settled into our apartment we then went out to get to know the area, on the edge of Le Marais. But also to stock up on some things. Found a supermarket and stocked up on so many things that we decided to eat in.
