Praying

Have noticed that my tractor MOT is many months overdue as are both my car towable trailers, one an Ifor Williams Horse Trailer & the other a simple smallish trailer built in France and both bought in the UK which is seriously overdue - by about two years! The roadworthiness test is due every two years. This small trailer had some damage to the rear lights plastic glass at the last MOT & although it was passed, a note was on the document that it should be fixed soon.

So I knew there was no point in trying to get through again without taking action. The trailer is now about 20 years old & the replacement glasses are not available any more on the standard eBay & similar web shops but can be got through specialist parts dealers who generally only do wholesale. Knowing our agricultural machines engineers had such an account & I would need to visit them in the coming weeks with all 3 bits of kit on Thursday middays when the MOT inspector holds an audience, I popped by today to get them to order the parts.

Will return on Thursday with the tractor to try my luck. The weather forecast suggests Thursday is the last day for Cabriolet driving before rains & cold weather return.

Took this photo of Ottobeuren on the drive to them. Shows the Basilica & the huge quadrangular monastery buildings - there are even more former "estate" buildings to the left including all the agricultural halls, brewery & various workers quarters. I think nowadays there are only half a dozen or so monks. The Basilica & the buildings have been in State rather than Roman Catholic ownership since Napolean secularised everything in 1805. For much of the time until the late 20th Century it was also the town's school.

I am sure there must be a "market" for some kind of lucrative tourism - our area, the Allgäu, is making quite a name in spiritual, sensual, get away from the madding crowd tourism, from Buddhist to .......
Not far away in Immenstadt, I think there is the largest Buddhist centre in Europe.

PS With hindsight, I was to be informed by friend & fellow Bliper Nogbad that today our colleague & friend Paul died today in Northampton UK, much too early at age 61. He had been through some heart surgery since we last met in Munich in 2015but we thought he had mastered that. A blessing that it seemed to have happened instantly & without undue pain. Thoughts with his family & I know Paul would have appreciated today's photo. RIP & Cheers!, Paul
