Not long after that, we both discovered that while we were otherwise occupied and the door was open, the Handsome Neighbor (Buddy) came inside and made himself at home.  He spent some time under the bed and then found a comfy spot in the living room.  Lizzie realized he was inside long before I did but she allowed him to stay before finally running him back out the open door.  No one got hurt but I'm betting he won't try that again anytime soon.
