Leaf Cutter Bee

Kathy and I were working in our veggie garden this afternoon assembling a new planter box to replace a worn out planter.
My face was quite close to the pile of dirt when a bee holding a piece of leaf flew past my nose and landed on the dirt then disappeared into a nearly invisible hole.
Not quite believing my eyes, I pulled out my camera and waited to see what would emerge from the hole.
Sure enough a bee soon emerged.
Intrigued, I got into a comfortable position to see if the bee would repeat the performance.
The industrious leaf cutter bee did not disappoint me.
I watched multiple forays into his lair with laden each time with a piece of leaf.
