Old Bill

This is one to join the ranks of scary dolls that I have seen on Blipfoto -

This is Old Bill and he is a wind doll that belonged to my mother. He was bought for her on a seaside holiday, probably somewhere like Blackpool, and he is about 70 years old.

She put him in her garden which is where he is suposed to go, but the weather was rotting him and so she brought him in and re-painted him - hence the scary colours.

When I left home, many years ago, I persuaded her to let me have him as he reminds me of my paternal grandfather who had a big tummy and sky blue eyes and was the only grandparent I ever knew.

People do find him scary, and I have to take him out of the room if they are sleeping over.
