A once-upon-a-time-friend-of-mine would have been 60 today.

I had lots to do to avoid dwelling on the sad fact that Life Is Unfair.  "Life is unfair" is more than a slightly euphemistic way of putting it.

I shall think of happier things.  And so should you.
