European Election Day

All credit to the Dunoon SNP activists who have lamp post posters throughout the town and out to Sandbank.

But there is not  a single one from any other party, and  today there was no presence from any other party at the polling places either.

Contention of ideas and arguments, embodied by parties and their manifestos, is central to democracy.   Making it visible is part of the process and , as my blip last week indicated, that is alive and well in Ireland and in most other parts of the EU.   

We need to nurture and promote its health here too.
