Brunel Totem

Decided on a change of scenery today, so decided to take a trip down memory lane, a walk through Brunel Woods in Torquay. The last time I was here was in the early nineties.
This totem pole and statue are known as "Brunel's Dance". The statue is of Isambard Kingdom Brunel and the totem maps the achievements in his life. They were carved in 1993 by a local artist, the totem carved from a sequoia tree, while the statue of Brunel was from a Douglas fir, both casualties of the Great Storm of 1987.
