Merry Christmas to Blipfoto!

This image isn't really seasonal at all, but I did love the colour.
We decided to have our hot Christmas dinner in the evening, but as the weather turned out, it wouldn't have mattered anyway. Today was cool (max 21 degC), and wet, and dismal. Appropriate for a hot Christmas meal, but I did think about those who had planned barbeques or cold seafood lunches.
We had roast turkey with vegetables, and as we had some beetroot on hand, I decided to roast them too. The preparation is a messy job -- but I do love the colours so much. The layers of shades of crimson/maroon, so intense and rich!
The hands are a problem, but after the rest of the preparations they are almost clean again.
We had just our immediate family today, tomorrow there will be more for cold Boxing Day buffet. Just hope the weather improves.
(And apologies, the lens does need a cleaning!)
