SMALL ISLAND

With perfect timing, I went to see Small Island at the National Theatre today. Many themes are explored in the play, including abandonment, colonial history and racism.

Although the Empire Windrush ship arrived in the UK in 1948, bringing immigrants from the Caribbean who were encouraged and invited to settle in Britain, recent history and policies have demonstrated that some people haven’t learned anything at all.
