What a lovely day:-

for a Taste of Honey

The beekeeping season is well on and the run of spring honey is coming to an end.

Time to get extracting and here you see it flowing through the filters prior to it being bottled.

I am finding that with the increasing growth of Brassicas, such as oilseed rape, the is a tendency for the honey to start granulating very early in the season.

This means that the honey can go solid in the combs and is very difficult to extract.

The honey is a lovely light to medium colour this year and is very thick.

Is there honey still for tea.....
