In the queue

It's been a wild and woolly and wet morning out of doors so thankfully the mini meadow has been watered without my assistance.

Several starling families were in the elder tree weaning their youngsters.  Some of them were struggling to hang on to the washing line, the feeders and the smaller branches in the wind, so this sturdy limb was a favourite and gathered quite a queue.  Here there are two youngsters awaiting parents whilst an adult bird keeps an eye out for an opening on the feeder.

Tony went out to do the shopping so I baked two fruit cakes and then sat down to the computer to create a spreadsheet for the rockery plants and do sundry other tasks linked to the upcoming holiday and yesterday's parkrun photos.  Flickr has been in the midst of major upgrading with all kinds of resultant hiccups in service.  I managed to finally upload my 700 photos by midnight last night.  It seems to be running more smoothly today.

Mini meadow update:  The plants are standing more upright each day so when the wind dies down and the sun comes out again, I'll blip it.  If you can't wait (!) take a look here.
