Cockchafer

 Common cockchafer, also referred to as the May bug, the Spang beetle or the Billy witch. These beetles usually appear around late April – early May and can frequently be seen and heard flying into lit windows and even lamps .
Which is what has been happening the last couple of last call visits to the garden before Badger goes to bed! The stunned ones I have been removing from harms way until they recover so thought it was a macro opportunity. Not easy as the moment they start to recover they are to quick to capture with extension tubes! 
Managed to gets the dogs walked on a very busy canal before the heavy showers returned complete with added hail....... we do desperately need it.
