Little roses before the storm

This afternoon I bought a new watering sprinkler at our local garden centre. I then spent an hour moving the sprinkler around our flowering beds. Great!

So why now at 10.30pm have the heavens opened , lightening and thunder terrifying the cats and disturbing our TV? It's not on my weather forecast app. You'd think they would let me know!
