To help C revise I took Will out for a bike ride round the Greenway. It was going really well, no actual stops other than at gates or road crossings. In the last three miles I decided to change gear for the first time, only for the chain to jump off and ram itself between the smallest cog and the frame! No amount of fiddling with it would shift it. Called the mobile mechanic and pushed the bike about half a mile to meet him. Wheel off (I had been slightly scared to do this due to the disk brakes), chain sorted, wheel back on, mechanic dismissed, bike ride completed in record time.
This gate sttands alone in a field just off the Greenway near Nortonbury. It asks you to keep it closed so that the wild flowers don't escape!
