Wongan Hills

We took a long leisurely drive Wongan Hills, a little town North of Perth in the wheatbelt region, above is the very long scenic road we drove along,
Extra shots were taken at Lake Ninan on the edge of the town, we stopped here for a picnic lunch, this is now a salt lake due to salinity, its 6 times saltier than the ocean, no fish live in the lake now, no waterbirds visit here due to the lack of food on the lake, it was very quiet almost eery with not a sound except for the breeze bowing through the trees, the few trees that have survived the salinity, there are numerous lakes throughout the wheatbelt that have succumbed to this man made problem.
