First Swim at Whipple Dam

Our very first swim of the year was at Bald Eagle State Park, on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. On this day, we had our first swim of the year at Whipple Dam, and the water was much chillier than Bald Eagle. Greenwood Furnace, when we finally make it there, will be colder yet.

This is a view of the lake, with the swimming area framed between the trees. There were quite a few children around, of all ages, but nobody else was actually swimming. Into the water I went, walking in slowly, deeper and deeper. As soon as it hit my shoulders, I knew I could do it. And then - what a refreshing swim!
