Ormiston Great Yew

Sarah, bless her, got off to work this morning while we and our guests emerged into the day at more leisurely rate. After a hearty breakfast, while Maggie, Andrew and Samuel finished getting ready, I took Euan to see the Great Yew of Ormiston. Charlie came with us.

I've stood beneath this magnificent tree a number of times. It's well know to the kids. It's at the middle of a pleasant, short walk. Perfect for when you want just a wee bit of fresh air. Euan is a tree surgeon. I've been meaning to bring him up here since I first became acquainted with this tree. I hoped he'd be as impressed by it as I continually am. He was. Of course. Who could fail to be?
