Strawberry

We went to our son's house this morning and whilst we were there went to say hello to Strawberry the emu. He was in a very happy mode and we stroked him through the fence. He then posed for a portrait which was really funny because he remained completely still. Usually he is constantly moving his head around which makes taking his photo almost impossible.
The Izzy and Tilly came for tea after school and both wanted to stay the night. It wasn't possible on this occasion though as they have school tomorrow :)

Izzy has added some facts about the Emu
Emus are found in the wild in Australia where they have existed for about 80 million years. They walked the planet with dinosaurs.
Emus are omnivores as they eat both plants and animals. They enjoy caterpillars, insects, flowers, seed and nutritious ratite pellets.
