Old and new.

We went down to Dunoon today to escape the rain, & it was dry there right enough.
It was pleasant to walk along the esplanade and imagine what it was like in the early days of tourism when Glaswegians rich & poor flocked ‘Doon the watter’.
This is looking down from the castle (nothing much left of that) over the harbour, the beautiful Victorian buildings on the left are for lease while the pier they’re built on is allowed to crumble. I can’t understand why Argyll & Bute council neglects piers the way they do, they shoot themselves in the foot.
