Idyllic

Hi Lordy, Lordy, when you think it couldn’t get any worse with this RV, overnight the bed collapsed in one corner, it had come away from the wall. As a temporary measure we slept at the other end.

Cruise America, still working on the other problems “found” us a garage to fix the problems. I rang the garage to find out that they couldn’t and Cruise America hadn’t made contact to ask them. I’ve now asked they provide a replacement vehicle as a matter of urgency even if it means driving one to where we are and swapping it.

We’re having to camp on made up beds in the main cabin instead of the fixed bed at the back. I would not recommend Cruise America to anyone. Things go wrong at times but they can’t fix it.

The RV problems are really affecting our enjoyment and memories of this long awaited trip. We make every effort to put it to one side and enjoy the day but there’s always something that needs to be done, chased up or queried.

Today was saved by finding the Omega Centre https://www.eomega.org just over a mile away from the RV site at Interlake in upstate New York. Great cafe and lovely relaxing atmosphere. A wonderful place to gain some inner peace, an antidote to our discontent.

Staff recommended a circular walk around Long Lake which passed through rolling countryside and old farm houses. And indeed it was. Another uplifting part of the day. We saw deer, loads of flowers and the woods were alive with birdsong.

We’ll see what tomorrow brings. We’re due to move on to a campsite in Vermont.
