Pushing tube to the lake

That big paper and timber factory need to get more cooling water for their modern machines, so they have built a new 85 meters long and 2 meters thick tube to be installed to the pump station. There is already one older in the bottom of the lake, but this new one will double the capacity. Another extra challenge is, that this new tube needs firstly tow  by couple of tugboats along the lake to the otherside of the pump station. To do that they need to go around Mikonsaari cape, which means 8 km's long trip and it took about 4 hours. You can check the location by opening the map of this post.  Therefore tube had special pontoons to keep in on water until it will be sink to the bottom of the lake. I didn't had time to capture photos of the lake trip, but will go to check situation tomorrow as it will be sink later on this month, when some more preparations is done.

In the evening joined to other geocacher's meet in Vainikkala (extra image), which is small village right next of state border of Finland and Russia.  Our first option for the meet was a bar in local railwaystation, which is the biggest railway gateway to Russia from Finland. Due of that rule our meeting location was very nice forest hut, because it's not allowed to arrange any geocacher meets at railwaystations, bus stations or airports. Weather was very hot today with +30 C and the same will continue tomorrow.
