Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Joan As Police Woman - Eternal Flame (2006)
I discovered Joan Wasser when I bought a promo sampler entitled Reveal Records New Music Sampler March 2006, which included her first single, My Gurl (from 2004), and three songs from her first album as well as tracks by other acts such as Kris Drever and Deep Elem. I was soon the owner of her albums Real Life (from which this single comes) and To Survive. Eternal Flame was inspired by Jeff Buckley, her partner for the two years up to his untimely death in 1997. It is included on CD1 of Joanthology, played on this day, a recommended cheapo 3CD sampler of her work to date, including a disc of BBC sessions, that I had pre-ordered and has just been released.
