The Speed of Light

The day I built a house

Today was "play with the wee man's toys" day - and it was great. We started by constructing a two foot long Play Mobil Pirate Ship. Amazingly I didn't lose the plot despite the below-par instructions, but had a few spare parts left over (I think the manufacturers do that deliberately to drive parents over the edge).

Then it was Lego Star Wars battle re-enactment time - we recreated the final moments of Boba Fett as he fell from Jabba The Hutt's desert skiff into the waiting jaws of the Sarlacc in the Great Pit of Carkoon.

With the battle over, and Boba meeting a sharp end, it was time to start work on our new house - a Lego beach-front condo, complete with outdoor shower, breaking waves, a fish on the BBQ and a palm tree - with nesting bird. It made me want to go on holiday - somewhere hot!

Last order of the day was a wee shot of the wee man's remote control buggy, chasing the dog who is a bit wary and normally ends up retreating to higher ground (well the sofa).

If the bad weather doesn't stop, then I think tomorrow will be board-games marathon day.
