Two Rivers - twice the fun - allegedly

Last full day in South Island today, unfortunately. We drove most of the way up to the Remarkables ski area - the unsealed road up there is very corrugated - definitely best to drive a hire car up there rather than a car you own...

Afterwards, we lazed around Queenstown, people watching. I took this shot of people queuing up in their lifejackets to go on a jet-boat thrill cruise. I like the way the young woman who works for the jet boat company is surveying her charges with her hands on her hips - and check out the slogan on her T-shirt! I also like the way that the people in the queue are a bit squeezed together and possibly slightly nervous...

Needless to say, I am not attracted by the thrill-seeking elements of Queenstown and will be very happy to go home having had one sedate jet boat ride in the pouring rain on the West Coast and having stayed well away from any bungy-jumping....

Very sad to be pretty much at the end of the holiday - flying to Auckland tomorrow morning, and on to Hong Kong at midnight tomorrow night.

PS - Happy Birthday Dad!! :-)
