Red Valerian

I popped out to the post office to post some things that I was very behind with (just don't think about posting things that often these days), and I noticed that these bright red flowers are everywhere just now. 

I had to look them up (using Google image search), to find out that this is red valerian, which I'd heard of, but never associated with this flowering plant, which seems to self-propagate in borders wherever it can.
