Checking the wine list

Down to Northiam for some fresh air and a bit of steam blippage.

The Wealden Pullman was being prepared when I got there and the DMU was just setting off for Bodiam. Being aware of these things I knew that the Pullman wouldn't be going anywhere until the DMU got back so I enjoyed watching the catering staff busying themselves on the train. On the platform they were preparing a welcome drink for diners as they boarded. And then people were arriving, dressed up for a lovely lunch as the Weald rolled past their dining table. To get to the train they had to cross the track which was a wee bit of a challenge for the ladies in stilettos but soon they were sorted and seated and the DMU came back with the token. Finally, with a lot of black smoke and white steam, Norwegian set off for Bodiam and the passengers looked forward to their starters.

A seat on the Sunday lunch includes a three-course meal and is £72.50 each but, I'm afraid, they are totally sold out for this year. Some seats left for Saturday evening which has a six-course meal and is £92.50.

Then home to make banana bread and cook a roast and now to enjoy the England Vs Scotland game
