It's a Beautiful Life

Backblipped

We were at church for the Christingle service. I'd never come across this before I went to an Anglican church but it is very symbolic:

The orange represents the world. The four cocktail sticks symbolise the four corners of the world - north, east, south and west. The dried fruits represent the fruit of the earth and nature; the sweets the people on earth. A black ribbon (under the red one) represents our separation from God; the red ribbon over the top of this represents the blood that was shed by Christ on our behalf to reconcile us with God. The candle represents Christ as the light of the world.

It's a great way for children and adults alike to remember why Jesus came.
