War of the Roses...

Did you know that I was the very first person, besides it's builder, to skate this bowl.

I'm not brilliant at skating it but i do really love it for 2 reasons.

1. I've only been to this skate park during the War of the Roses weekend and so the park is always rammed. This is one of the few parts of the park that you can get a decent run. Probably because it's so scary.

2. It's so scary. It's not huge but because it's fashioned on an old 70's californian pool, the transitions are tight and fast. They come at you quicker than you expect and can spit you out in a split second if you aren't paying attention.

War of the Roses is a skateboard competition loosely based on the Yorkshire/Lancashire War of the Roses. One day of the weekend is run in a Yorkshire skatepark (This one, The Works in Leeds) and the other in Lancashire, RampCity in Blackpool I think it was.
