Driving home for Christmas

Had a leisurely breakfast with mum and then headed off to pick up son number one in Sheffield. He was almost packed so we didn't take long to get everything in the car and then head back south.

Loads of lorries on the M1 and busy traffic, but it was really good to hear what he's been up to and catch up on things. Home just before it started getting dark.

We had a family 'war cabinet' to decide how to deal with our lack of Christmas preparations. Our conclusions? buy a small Christmas tree in order to make the present pile look larger, buy lots of gin and have a present-buying assault on town on Saturday. Sounded like a good plan to me.

These baubles were a present from my mum and will go on the tree when we finally buy one!
