The main image is Dropwort. ( Filipendula vulgaris). This is related to Meadowsweet but is much smaller. It is found mainly on calcareous soils and is pictured here on the southern slopes of Arnside Knott.

The extra is an example of how man has moved plants around the world in the last couple of hundred years. This is Calla Lily.
It is a native of the countries of southern Africa. Yet here it is growing in a man made well in North Lancashire.
I am sure you will want to know that it is the national flower of the nation state of St. Helena. And that it is an important symbol of Irish Republicanism.
