York Gate Garden

Our U3A Garden Group travelled towards Leeds today to visit two gardens. The first 'The Orchard' is in the NGS Yellow Book and is a lovely garden with lots of interesting features. It was all the work of one lady and her husband and must be a real labour of love. Then it was on to York Gate Garden which has recently featured on Gardeners' World. This garden employs gardeners and was given to the charity 'Perennial' which is a gardeners' benevolent society helping professional gardeners in times of need. I particularly liked the purple colour combination planting here. We had our lunch at York Gate Garden and they provided a lovely lunch for us with dairy and/or gluten allergies. Unfortunately it was very cold with a few showers and now, back home, we are trying to thaw out.
