Visit to Inchmahone Priory

Lovely bright sunny morning.
We decided to visit Inchmahone Priory which is set on an island in the Lake of Menteith.
We were very pleased to learn that dogs were allowed on the little boat to the island.
Lovely tranquil place to visit.
After visiting the priory ruins we had a wander round the path which goes round the edge of the island.
This is the view we had of Inch Talla from Inchmahone.
My extra shows the inside of the Chapter House which shelters memorials brought in from the church for their protection. The most striking monument is the double effigy of Walter Stewart (died in 1295) with his countess, Mary.
We went to Callandar for lunch, and spent the afternoon back in Aberfoyle.
