southend seafront

The rain has returned! Thankfully it didn't start falling in earnest until later through the morning so we didn't get too soaked while we were doing a spot of shopping in Southend!

The seafront was quite busy and it seems a number of schools are having day trips to Adventure Island where all the rollercoasters are - especially now that the new million pound ride Axis is up and running (the big white ride at the front!). It swings and spins and goes upside down..... scary enough just to watch it from ground level and that's as close as I'm going to get to it!!
