The Handkerchief Tree

A visit to Edinburgh Zoo today ... the forecast wasn't good but the rain did stay away until lunchtime. A number of school groups visiting and I expect that they got rather wet.

This most unusual tree (Davidia Involucrata) was growing just outside the field where the zebras were getting a little physical. We were just a couple of weeks too late to see it at its best .... next year we'll be earlier.

Growing further down the grassy bank I spotted this solitary fungus. I have a new app on my phone which identifies plants so I know that it's an Orange Grisette Mushroom ..Amanita Crocea
