Wet Wisley

It is amazing how often it rains on the second Wednesday, the WI Camera Group day. Today we were booked to go on a horse drawn narrow boat on the River Wey at Godalming, but the trip was cancelled as the river was flowing too fast because of the rain. So we went to Wisley instead.
Wisley is the very prestigious garden belonging to the Royal Horticultural Society, and a few days ago it unveiled its new reception area. We thought it would be good to view it, having been aware of the building programme for a couple of years. It is very impressive, very spacious and set off by very modern planting. It seemed like a different place. There is a tempting sales area for both plants and gifts, imaginatively staged. See extra for hanging trowels! I must go back there for my Christmas shopping! We didn't go far in the garden, it was too wet, but enjoyed a cup of tea in the new cafe.
