After dinner Jon and I took a drive - something we really do, to get ice cream, take a walk and just generally decompress.  Normally, we could do that at home but as I remember and am once again experiencing, 5-8 p.m. are the "witching hours" with small children in the house.  The day is done, baths to be taken and bedtime.  The air was cooler than the heat of day, the sun at a nice angle.  Peterborough is a small town, in fact where the play Our Town was written by Thornton Wilder. Very quaint with lots of interesting shops and though they were all closed, window shopping can be fun too.
