Deadly Beauty

I never knew that Iris were poisonous, and deadly to pets.

They are also the Ancient Egyptian symbol of bravery, and the inspiration for the French fleur-de-lis pattern.

The Iris is the birth flower for those of us born in February.

When I ran across this beauty growing in a local marsh, I thought it was just another pretty bloom.

Guess I know better now.

Do not eat Irises.  They will bite you back.
