Painted Lady

I haven't seen many butterflies yet .... plenty of busy bees going about their business but today this Painted Lady just landed at my feet. 
Wings closed at first but my patience was rewarded and the wings gradually unfolded as the butterfly enjoyed the warmth of the sun.

Our local shops, including Tesco, were closed today ..... a power cut seemed to affect all including the Post Office ..... a real pain when you have a package to send by recorded delivery. But worst of all .... the money machines weren't working either!
