Dappled sunlight

It was so nice to see some sun at last.  I was on a walk with our walking group starting at Castle Drogo and walking to Chagford and back.  The day started dry and we even had periods of sunshine as we walked along the top of the Teign gorge with its magnificent views of the trees in the valley below and the distant moors.  Soon we were down by the river Teign and we followed this for some distance before heading up into the charming stannary town of Chagford.  Here we had our picnic lunch enjoying the views of the surrounding hills.  Crossing the ancient bridge we headed back along the river and back up the steep climb to the tearooms of Castle Drogo where we indulged in cream teas.  A good days walking.
