Ani Chodron

We had the beautiful experience of hearing Ani Chodron talk here in Baddeck.  Our wonderful friend Mary Jane, who is also an ordained Buddhist nun, organized this event.

Ani Chodron is a long-time meditation practitioner and was a student of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche. She is now a student of Pema Chodron. She lives at Gampo Abbey and comes to teach in Baddeck at the invitation of Karma Samadhi Ling. She is an ordained monastic and has been a personal attendant of Ani Pema Chodron since the early 1990s.

"Pause practice can transform each day of your life. It creates an open doorway to the sacredness of the place in which you find yourself. If you pause just long enough, you can reconnect with exactly where you are, with the immediacy of your experience". Pema Chodron, Lion's Roar.

I have ready quite a lot by Pema Chodron and would highly recommend her books to anyone looking for some clarity on how to be more compassionate, especially to yourself!

We think about 55-60 folks came out on a friday night to hear what she had to teach us about meditating.   We are so lucky to have this amazing resource close by.  There seems to be a plan afoot to have her come teach more frequently in Baddeck, which would be awesome.    There is something almost other worldly about people who have spent so much of their lives studying and living the practice of meditation!
