Altocumulus?

(possibly, it isn't very easy to identify them from the pictures in The Cloud Book). After a sunny morning it clouded over, and this very striking cloudscape formed north of the house.

Rain again this afternoon, then some sunny spells but still very windy. We spent some time in the garden, assessing the damage of the past few days. Not too bad, actually - after re-staking the delphiniums and dead heading the poor peonies, it's looking quite good.
