Surfin' down on the Calm Sea

Started the day with a walk with the next door neighbours and their new dog Dee. Dee is an utter sweetie, and I'm hoping that she's enough of a dog for the Youngest to feel that she has one of her own now. She's desperate, and has been for years.

We came home and then decided to try out the girls new boogie boards down at one of the local beaches. Very calm water, but it was more about just getting in the water with them. They had a lovely time with the Husband in the water while I got to read on the beach. Perfect. Tide was out too far for swimming. While we were down there we saw one of the boats that have the wheels on them, and it came up the boat ramp to drop some people off before driving back into the water. Pretty cool!

This afternoon, both of the girls have had friends to play, and the Youngest's pal is having a sleep over here. They're currently watching Ella Enchanted.

Happy days. I'm pretty happy also to manage to get a photo of the Husband looking happy. He is a happy guy, in general, but a lens usually only captures him looking morose or grumpy. Yay!
