Different!

We had a different day today - the weather forecast was not good so we thought we needed to look beyond the outdoor options. We decided on a trip on the Strathspey railway, and today's engine was a steam train :-) . The train left Aviemore at 10:30 am, stopped for 10 minutes at Boat of Garton, then stopped again at Broomhill station for about 15 minutes while the engine was moved from one end of the train to the other, another 10 minute stop at Boat of Garton on the way back, and arrived back in Aviemore just after 12.
The rain started as we got off the train, and, remembering a conversation with a couple in the hotel last night, we set off towards Inverness. The gentleman we were chatting to in the bar yesterday evening said that if it's raining in Aviemore, it's usually good on the coast of the Moray Firth, and he was right! We had a short sharp shower on the way, but it was lovely and sunny! He and his wife live in Weatherby and are regular visitors to Aviemore, they have had a time share apartment here for 30 years and visit in April and June.
Today's blip is a collage - our steam train :-)
