Essex NGS Open Gardens

Treated my dad (and mum!) to a visit to 2 Essex NGS Open Gardens today as they were very close to one another - one was an old favourite at Elwy Lodge where they have amazing plants and even more amazing cakes (their blueberry,mint & lemon drizzle cake that I had was yummy!) and then a new garden to visit for us was this one at Whitehouse Cottages which was a lovely small garden, complete with blacksmith working in the yard!  Such a shame that there was a downpour while we were there but we managed to find shelter and the owners brought us out cups of tea so you can't beat that for service! Will definitely be going back if they open again next year!.

Came back to our part of Essex in the south east corner and they'd had no rain at all! Typical!
